My guide to St. Barthélemy

This little island in the Caribbean has pretty much everything you could ask for. From dancing on your tables at lunch to hiking to a natural pool, there is something for everyone. I have listed some of my favorite spots and activities on the island below!

Restaurants:

L’Isola – One of the best, and I mean BEST, Italian restaurants in the world. This quaint, candle-lit restaurant is serving up to-die-for pasta, meat and fresh fish.

Bagatelle – This french restaurant turns into a club at 10 on the weekends. One minute you’re eating your tuna tartare and truffle pizza, and the next minute you’re dancing on top of the tables to strobe lights.

Nikki Beach – This worldwide restaurant chain is known for their famous day parties and this location does not disappoint. On top of the continuous flow of bottles, they also serve some amazing sushi (pictured above).

Sand Bar at Eden Rock – The Sand Bar is located on Saint Jean bay’s crystal-clear beach. With Jean-George as their top chef, their food is just as astounding as the view. My favorite thing to order is their watermelon goat cheese (pictured above).

On The Rocks at Eden Rock – Located just past the Sandbar, On The Rocks is literally on top of a rocky peninsula, overlooking the Saint Jean bay. This fine dining restaurant serves small, yet mouthwatering dishes.

Orega – Located in the heart of Gustavia, this restaurant put a french twist on Japanese cuisine. From their shrimp and vegetable spring roll to their wagyu gyoza every bite is so pleasantly surprising. You can also enjoy everything below strung lights in their garden.

Bonito – This french restaurant takes advantage of the ocean with the incorporation of lots of fish into their menu; from their wide range of ceviches to tiraditos. Along with the fish, they also have some amazing, cool cocktails such as the “Sex in the Bath” pictured above.

Petite Colombe Bakery – They bake fresh pastries every morning, which is perfect for your late night/early morning snack. Come at 4am through the back door and get hot croissants straight off the baking rack (pictured above).

Activities:

SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) – This fun “sport” is accessible via the St. Jean bay. It can act as a workout while getting a tan and taking in breathtaking views. Don’t forget to take a camera!

Hiking – There are various hiking paths located throughout the island. I highly recommend hiking to the Grand Fond natural pools. Only 20 minutes long, this intermediate hike is  perfect for an afternoon’s activity.

Jet Skiing – Via Gustavia Marina, you can rent up to 5 jet skis at a time. Super fun and pretty as you zigzag through the yachts. P.S. even prettier if you take them out right before sunset!

Boating – Through many different companies, you can rent boats of all shapes and sizes. They can take you to secluded beaches and beach-clubs.

Eden Rock St. Barths – Located right on the Saint Jean Bay, this boutique hotel has a crystal clear beach, two amazing restaurants and a cute bathing suit/sunglasses shop. Everything is so pretty, you won’t want to leave the hotel!

Hotel Taiwana – On the Bay of Flamands, you will find this intimate hotel. The white and red color scheme gives it a very modern, yet sleek vibe. There is a restaurant/lounge, pool and beach.

Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle De France – This gorgeous hotel is located right next door to Hotel Taiwana on the Bay of Flamands. The white and pink decor is precious and goes well with the blue pool and ocean.

Villas– If you have a larger party, renting a villa is the way to go. Through Eden Rock, you can rent one of their many villas and have full access to the hotel’s amenities.  I have personally stayed in the Villa Castle Rock, Villa Legends B (pictured above) and the Villa Rockstar and loved them all!
