Los Angeles, The City of Angels, La La Land, whatever you wanna call it, it’s amazing. From the sunset drives on the coast to the delicious native avocados, LA is my second favorite city in the US, behind New York of course. Here, I give you my 411 to LA restaurants, cafes and treats!
Fonuts
Get this: healthy donuts exist. Yes I said healthy. These donuts are gluten free, vegan and amazing! It also doesn’t hurt that they are sold at a cute little shop on Third ave. My favorites are the raspberry, blueberry and chocolate!
Urth Caffe
The classic day spot in Los Angeles is Urth Caffe. They have everything from waffles and omelets to salads and pizzas. Don’t forget their tasty drinks! I love their Belgian waffle with fruit, savory pesto omelette and pineapple-mango-strawberry smoothie!
Go Greek
Trust me, you’ve never had frozen yogurt like the kind they sell at Go Greek. They make their greek yogurt in store and freeze it for the most real and fresh tasting fro-yo. I go for the original tart with their homemade sour cherry compote.
Matcha Box
FAVORITE matcha cafe ever! They specialize in hand whisked/shaken almond milk matcha lattes. They are always experimenting with flavored lattes like lavender, strawberry and chai. My ultimate favorite is the Brainbow, matcha latte with tumeric, honey and mct oil.
Alfred’s Tea Room
Although there are multiple Alfred’s coffee shops located in LA, this is the only one that specializes in Tea. They have the option to add boba to any of their drinks and I highly recommend you take up the offer! I get an iced matcha latte with almond milk and boba.
Nobu Malibu
Hands down favorite restaurant in Los Angeles and in the top 5 of the world. I visit Nobu almost once a week in NYC but you really can’t beat the views and ambiance of being able to sit outside at the Malibu location. My order always includes Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Yellowtail Jalapeno, however, this time we tried something different, recommended by our waiter, that we loved. Their Takumi Burgers are exquisite and a must try, but keep in mind, they are only served during lunch! Also don’t forget to make a reservation way in advance or come early and be prepared to wait as it’s pretty much always busy!
Joans On Third
Famous for their Chinese Chicken Salad, Joans On Third is the perfect place for lunch/brunch! They have something for everyone; from light salads to hearty sandwiches. Don’t miss out on an amazing lunch if you’re in the city!
La Scala
Perfect place to take a lunch-break while shopping in Beverly HIlls! They are known for their chopped salads and delicious Leon dressing. My order is the Grilled Chicken Chopped salad, add cucumber.
Jon & Vinny’s
My favorite Italian restaurant in LA is Jon & Vinny’s, hands down! This hip spot on Fairfax is always crowded so make sure to make a reservation. If you go, which I highly recommend you do, you HAVE to get the Spicy Fusilli, Chicken Cutlet and Gem Salad.
Jean-Georges Beverly Hills
Move over avocado toast, avocado pizza is the new hot menu item at Jean-Georges in the Waldorf Astoria. Creamy avocado and warm carbs has taken a new form; Avocado Carpaccio Pizza, served with Jalapeno, Cilantro and Lime.
Koi
The crispy rice craze continues at Koi and I can’t complain! They offer it 4 different ways: Truffle Avocado, Filet Mignon, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Yellowtail. If your looking for a fun dinner place in West Hollywood, Koi is your place!
