My favorite sushi resturants in NYC

Nobu

-Midtown & Battery Park-

This world renowned restaurant stands up to it’s reputation by providing some of the best and innovative dishes. They have perfected all their dishes; I have failed to ever try something I haven’t loved. Not to mention the prestige and fun atmosphere. My favorites are Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Jalapeno Sashimi, Salmon Dry Miso and King Crab Tempura with Amazu Ponzu.

Sugarfish

-Flatiron-

Simplicity at its finest. From no extra sauces, to no hot food, they have mastered high quality, yet inexpensive, sushi. They are known for their set menus that are composed of edamame, sashimi, sushi and hand rolls. My personal favorite is the Trust Me, the middle of the three set menus.  I recommend going really early or be prepared to wait for 2+ hours, as they don’t take reservations. Another option is their famous to-go boxes that come with directions on how exactly to top and eat your sushi.

Kazunori

-Flatiron-

The sister resturant to Sugarfish, Kazunori, follows a lot of the same principles, but even more simple. They only serve handrolls and green tea. The large bar fills the entirety of the resturant with about 25 seats. The line is first-come-first-serve with menus in which you mark your order and seat yourself. Another way it is similar to Sugarfish is the to-go boxes, which instead handrolls, you can only get cut rolls to go. My favorites are the Salmon, Yellowtail and Scallop handrolls.

BondSt

-NOHO-

This resturant is split up into 2 parts; the lounge on the lower level and the restaurant on the top 2 levels. In my opinion, the lounge is the way to go. The dim lights, good music and fun atmosphere makes this the perfect place for a weekend night out with your friends (not to mention, the AMAZING food)! My favorites include the Truffle Tuna Tarts, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Snapper Avocado Tacos and Seabass Miso Skewers.
